had said ross mirkarimi is a friend of ours and we don't have to give any explanation. what would ross mirkarimi supporters have thought if you said the mayor's people contribute to my campaign and that's all there is to it. that is what you have done to the people who care about democracy and ethical conduct. the mayor has made no response, money -- jpoú of accountability but the lies cost more than the money. thank you. >> president chiu: next speaker. speaker. >> my name is deborahg5 on two different subjects, briefly, the nudity ban. i will just say that one of the factors that should also be considered in addition to the resources of the police being concerned with nudity, there is a federal lawsuit -- >> president chiu: excuse me, ma'am. we have a rule in the board chamber that once we have considered an item in committee with public comment, that that public comment's not allowed at a subsequent full board meeting. so you're welcome to talk about anything else except for that topic which we've already discussed and debated. >> am i allowed to talk about the decision relatedpxv
this important topic at this time. in the past after many, many years ross mikarami was instrumental in having a hearing about the certificates. one thing leads to the other. now, today i attended the meeting on the successor agency to redevelopment and you know that you are creating yet another commission on, they call it infrastructure and investment, you know? now, while we were attending the other meeting, not once were these people who were appointed on this investment and infrastructure attended that meeting. now what's happening here, supervisor christina olague, when you speak the truth, people don't like it. there were a bunch of whoever you call it who were sponsored by the machine, you know the machine, much like the mafia. much like the mafia. now today you've heard a few and there are many people at home and maybe you should go on kapu, you know, and talk about this. have a series of meetings. that's the only thing we can do. because these people are banked on treating good people like dirt. you know, the western addition is where middle class african americans were forced o
particularly for one person, who impressed me tremendously for her gutsy vote for sheriff ross mirkarimi to go back to work as sheriff of this city. christina olague, you were appointed into the position. you took a risk, and i admire you for your principle, rather than the political part of it. thank you very much. and i wish you all the very best. and i'm so glad i was here tonight because i heard a lot of wonderful things. i've never talked top pu i've never met you. i've never even crossed the aisle with you, you know, anywhere. so thank you so much. and i wish you all the very best. and supervisor kim, i was very much surprised. thank you for your vote. supervisor avalos and supervisor campos, i always thought, from the very beginning, because all we needed was just two supervisor votes, to bring him back as sheriff. thank you so very much. and i'm -- asked one of the sheriffs here this evening, i think he's gone now, how is sheriff ross mirkarimi's doing, and he said he's doing wonderfully. i am very happy to hear that. i wish him, his wife, and their son, all the very best. happy holida
. paul kangis again. before the ross mirkarimi vote i didn't know who supervisor olague was and it takes that courage and supervisor that with stood the attack and it's the whole idea being able to speak freely in this city in spite of what the rich think, being able to act freely within this city which makes san francisco a city that the whole world looks at and follows and listens to and so even though i'm a critic of cca, simply for scientific reasons, i appreciate the fact that the supervisors did the thinking they did and came to the conclusion they came to because even though the environmental crisis is going to bring huge storms this year beyond the political storms. in fact the environmental storms are probably going to be more powerful than the political storms we will face this year. this city with this free thinking attitude is capable of providing leadership to the whole world, but there needs to be all sides involved and this city does that and i thank you supervisor olague for your leadership. >> thank you. next speaker please. >> i would like to thank supervisor olague fo
supervisor ross has done a tremendous job and you have done an even better job in your 8 months. september 27 you did something here in san francisco that has never been done in 20 years. we had 3 subcommittee meetings in one day up and down the stairs on african american issues. look out there and see what we have out there. it is totally unacceptable for my black community to not be right here for opportunity to talk about the atrocities that happened to us with the human rights commission and redevelopment agency, not only did we ask for it in february, you went beyond that, asked for a commission meeting and asked for this oversight committee. like he said, in this last minute, i'm going to tell you, my name is ace and i'm on this case. we are going to put together an injunction or something it stop what mr. ed lee is doing right now. what he is doing is creating an atrocious group of individuals thats going to run the rest of our generation like the prior redevelopment has done. it's no mystery, all you got to do is check your history, people are going to do for generations to come,
over the years and enjoying his time and i don't know what you said to andy ross there but to take this job with a grain p salt and i think we can all learn a lot of lessons from that and it's something that you taught and i do appreciate the fact that you take a lot of joy and do take a lot of joy in this job and you stand for what you believe in. you did the -- community and prop c last year and there is a lot of pictures there about a lot of the effort that you put into in terms of prop c and interpretation of going around and getting the significance it was not easy and it's not always take an easy read here as a supervisor and it's about standing up for what you think is right and then if you put it back on, these are the ones that are my favorite let your expressions do the taking here at the board of supervisor and is we have had funny pictures that we have gathered over the years here of your expressions here at the board and aside of swapping the microphones out and i think you can flip to the in connection one and the expression of boredom has been perfected over the year
